About Us
The Baltimore Chesed League (BCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating a sense of compassion and community involvement among boys in 5th-8th grade.

Through team camaraderie and an exciting league format, the BCL aims to provide Jewish boys in our community with opportunities to engage in meaningful “chesed-focused” activities, encourage the development of positive middos, and ultimately, help build caring, empathic, and “mentchlich” individuals.

Our mission is to provide these young individuals with meaningful volunteer experiences, instilling values of kindness, leadership, and community service. The league focuses on forming small teams led by coaches, usually parents, to ensure personalized attention and a positive environment for all participants.

Our Mission

At the core of our organization is the belief that teaching young boys the principles of “chesed” (loving-kindness) will not only positively impact the community but also foster personal growth and leadership qualities in each participant. The Baltimore Chesed League is committed to:
Youth Empowerment: We empower boys in 5th-8th grade to become active leaders by providing them with opportunities to engage in meaningful acts of kindness and community service.
Team Building: Teams include seven boys. Coaches, often parents, guide and mentor the teams, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Coaches drive and provide perspective for the participants.
Limited Spaces, Meaningful Impact: Space is intentionally limited to ensure each participant has a significant and impactful volunteer experience. Our aim is to create lasting memories and lessons for these young individuals.
